Honestly, "What we had went beyond that" sounds even gayer than the idea of these two characters having homosexual sex. It sounds like romantic soulmates who were star-crossed lovers.

They are literally romantic star-crossed soulmates in canon. In so many ways. Think massive sacrifices for each other, declarations of love and loyalty, bringing reach other back from the dead. The author is insane for thinking people wouldn't ship them.

It's pretty funny because I'm not into slash but the canon seems like it's written to provide tons of slash-friendly inspiration. SO much hurt/comfort, soul mate bonding... They have a child together, ffs! Kind of. But totally NOT in a gay way, according to the author. It's hilarious.

Right? I don't have slash goggles on, but you'd have to be in blind not to see the slash possibilities. It's like the canon is tailor made for it,why do that and then get upset about fans shipping the obvious pairing?
