Oh dear God, I adore Capaldi as Twelve. He's my number one favourite Doctor now, and I'm still in denial about his departure. I've been rewatching fan vids and browsing SDCC clips and basically fangirling my crush like crazy in an effort to stave off the inevitable. I will miss him so, so much. And I'm someone who considers DW a silly, trope-y, nerdy, entertaining scifi show at heart, given emotional weight by a series of wonderful actors.

But geez, OP, way to put all the vaguely interested or formerly disenchanted or still undecided viewers off the 12th Doctor with your random hostility. They can like who they like. They can watch or not watch a show for any damn reason they please. They can be curious, they can be unimpressed, they can even be shallow and think Capaldi's too old (more fools they, but hey, their libidos, their loss).

And IMO, the fact that the BBC finally embraced the obvious possibility of a female Doctor is one of the few things that reconciles me to Capaldi's absence. I'm sad and at the same time I'm excited! If it were just another white male actor, I would have a much harder time not just sitting out the next regeneration until I stopped missing my Doctor so much.

In short, stop trying to blame other fans for issues you're apparently having with the show.
