Someone who had a "Baby on Board" sticker yesterday when I was driving drove as bad or worse than the usual bad Texas drivers. Like, really, your going to risk your kid's life being a moron?

I hate those stickers. I've also seen 'mom to be' stickers. Seriously? No one cares.

the baby on board stickers are for if there's an accident, their tiny little bodies won't be overlooked by first responders.

The problem is 1) rear windows are easily shattered in an accident, so no one is going to see the sticker, and 2) no one bothers taking them down when the baby is not in the car.

"Unlike what is implied in the gruesome folklore that has come to be associated with these advisories, their purpose was not to alert rescue workers to the presence of babies at accident scenes; they were instead supplications to other drivers to exercise additional care, reminders that they shared the road with vehicles carrying children. yeah, really. I'm not gonna kiss someone's ass just because they have a kid.

That's. .. not the point of those stickers. You have issues.

i've been saying this for a long time

Same. I mean I'm going to drive carefully around other cars no matter who's in them. And that's not a free pass to get to drive like a maniac and force me to dodge.

It's not about bragging you're pregnant. It's about making clear you're pregnant in case of emergency. Or like, so assholes give you the priority seat on public transportation or whatever

It has nothing to do with an emergency, though it is good to note in the case of one, I suppose.

Besides, how does a sign posted in your car window cause assholes to give you the priority seat on public transportation or whatever?

They come in pins/buttons, too.

Nothing to get mad about. Showing sensitivity to pregnant women, just as disabled individuals or the elderly, ous important.

Exactly.

No, it's nothing to get mad about. It's also nothing to act superior over.

(And if anyone cared about showing sensitivity to pregnant women, they'd shut the fuck up about anyone's potential pregnancy unless the woman herself indicated she wanted to talk about it. Also, they'd stop treating breastfeeding and miscarriages as taboo, stop shaming anyone whose pregnancy doesn't fall under some douchebag's standards, and quit insulting women who don't know they're pregnant before giving birth, because 100% of the time, they neither look nor feel pregnant. They'd do a lot better for pregnant women, besides producing a sign and maybe reserving a parking space at the grocery store.)

Baby on board, something something, Burt Ward! Hey, this thing writes itself! (Simpson's line, couldn't resist, sorry!)
