Yeah, true. The thing is, most of those icons tend to not be very pretty to begin with. On the few occassions I do make icons for myself, I will ask people not to steal but if they do... eh. It's not like you can stop them, and it doesn't really matter anyhow. LJ's a large enough place for more usages of an icon.
Although I do commend you on the ironic usage of your icon. ♥

My icon is definitely not pretty XD But it's not supposed to be. I have two icons with my name on my main account. One is actually a nametag that says "Hi my name is" and the other one is just silly and like I said, I use them on communities where I might be a stranger. I think of them as little introductions. But not for every damn post. Just like the signing thing.
Have you noticed the icon makers that share icons with their names on them? As if anyone else would want an icon that says "iconmaker53" on it. WTF is up with that? More ego going on there for sure.

Oh, I didn't mean yours! xD I mean those with unreadable usernames in font that barely differentiates from the background image used. As an introduction thing, it's pretty cute, I must admit.
Haha seriously? Oh man, I have not had the pleasure, but I'm sure I'll have a lovely laugh and headdesk over those if I do run into them. But then again, I don't even buy shirts that have the label of the designer/store on them just because it feels so lame, like you're some sort of advertisement plate for someone else. |D;

It's ok, mine is not pretty on purpose. This is essentially my "Neener neener" account where I run around and act silly. The icon might as well reflect this XD But I know what you mean. I actually make pretty icons and I'm such a snob about icons. If anyone else but me was using my icon, I'd be all "That's such a lame icon." XD
Yeah, seriously....seriously lame! I hear you on those labels. I'm so not a label girl. I don't want to pay $50 more for something just because there's someone's name on it. AND if you pay attention to labels and fashion and shit, you can only wear that item for a set time before it goes out of style and you have to retire it. I like my clothes to be good for more than just a month or three.

Noo, I actually think it's funny, in a 'wtf there must be an inside joke behind that' way.
HAHAHA definitely. Especially if you just want a normal white t-shirt or something which would normally cost around 10 Euros, with the lameass name on it it becomes something like 25. Seriously, what is up with that? XD And yeah, I just buy my clothes for what I like, not for what's in fashion. I did that for a while, but found myself growing tired of clothes so quickly.
