Repeat 1: If you insist on taking that part of the Bible literally (ignoring Jael, Deborah, Sheba, Sarah, Eve, Susanna, Judith, Esther, Mary Mother of God, Mary Magdalene, and St Thecla, among others; especially in the Apocrypha), then perhaps Christianity is not the right religion for you.

But remember, you CAN love God and even be a great Christian women while still being BAD. ASS.

Dorothy L. Sayers. She rode a Vespa around well in excess of the speed limit, played guitar (despite being by most accounts very bad at it), drank like a fish well into her old age, and is considered one of the great Christian scholars of the twentieth century. She wrote Are Women Human?, The Man Who Was Born to Be King, and translated the Divine Comedy, among other things.

Don't worry. It'll all work out. And being treated as an equal is good. *hugs*

You forgot the two things Sayers did, one public, one private, which most outraged the standards of her times: she was one of the first women to be granted a Masters degree from Oxford, and she had a child out of wedlock.

Ahhh, yes. I just had Vespas on my mind because my godfather wants to get one.

Sayers was pretty much one of the most badass ladies ever, physically but especially intellectually.
