Aww man, you're not kidding.

I actually started Akagi first, but then a bunch of people were like "No Kaiji first! Kaiji first!!"

But I definitely agree with you there. After Kaiji I was like "More more more more I NEED MORE!"

I've just started watching Akagi. I really like it so far, and am loving how polar opposite Akagi and Kaiji are.

My friend and I are also currently into Gin to Kin, and even though we can't read the RAWS, from what we gather, we can tell it's just as fun a series as Kaiji and Akagi.

I've been RAWing it up with the later parts of Kaiji - the beginning of the third part is about the cutest thing ever (in the worst kind of way). Poor Kaiji.

I think the opposite natures are what made people say to start with Kaiji, because he as a character gets incredibly frustrating by the end while Akagi oozes cool.

Damn that crazy language barrier.

Aw man, my buddy and I have gone through the later RAWS of Kaiji too. I wish I knew exactly what was going on. XD Endou gets 100x more awesome it seems later on.

You mean with Mikoko? Aw man, I actually think she's kinda cute despite how weird she is. XD

Yesssss it looks amazing. I'm really surprised that not a lot of people seem to be jumping on translating it because the animated part 1 seems to be overwhelmingly popular among English speakers. An official translation would be even more amazing, but I don't have my hopes up.

Oh, I agree, which is why I'm calling it the cutest thing ever. It's only the worst kind of way because poor Kaiji gets flustered so easily (Well, I can't really blame him because I'd probably react similarly.). She's quite charming despite (Or maybe because of) her weirdness.

Akagi seems to be the only one with more than three chapters scanlated...but even then, Akagi only has 13 chapters scanlated last I checked. And that series has been going on since 1992! Apparently, the Washizu Arc hasn't even ended yet. XD

I think I spotted those while I was stalking the Zawa Zawa comm! Number 6 on that post is quite possibly one of the greatest ever, as is 20, but I'm still deciding whether I want to go the anime route or the manga route. I'm definitely bookmarking that page, though, because I agree that they are quite awesome. :)

Actually, there's an overwhelmingly large amount of really awesome icons out there. Probably because of all the priceless expressions to be found.

The Fukumoto Fandom right now has a lot of talented people in general. =3

Yeah, I've noticed. I've been seeing a lot of awesome pictures and videos and fsts and icons and cosplay and just about everything really (Well, I haven't seen any awesome sculptures or tattoos yet, haha.). It seems to be a really enthusiastic and hands-on fandom, and it makes me quite happy. And it seems to be growing like a weed.

Oddly, the Ichijou icons are usually my favorite of the bunch even though he's a total creep, haha. I probably don't even know the start of it.

I'm just glad to see so many of the English fans drawing fanart. There never is enough fanart in fandom to me. =O

I don't know, I think Hyodo takes the cake in creepiness.

Yes! I love to look at it! I also love that the art tends to be pleasantly varied in who it's of. I was a big fan of Tonegawa in particular and expected the fandom to kind of neglect him, but sure enough I see him pop up fairly often in fanworks.

And of course there's an overwhelming amount of Sahara art, which makes me smile. Haven't seen too much of Ishida around though which is unfortunate because I think he was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

You think so? I found Hyodo kind of endearing in that he's so far over Kaiji's head most of the time. Even though he gets off on death and all that, I still find Ichijou creepier. Hyodo is messed up, but Ichijou strikes me as completely batshit insane.

Tonegawa is such a badass, he's one of those characters who I hated so much at first, but then totally came to respect at the end of his time in the story. I love characters with steel balls and a prideful attitude.

I am astounded at the general attention nearly every character gets, even the old men. It's awesome.

Ichijou is batshit insane no doubt, but Hyodo's got some strange behaviors. In the RAWS I saw Hyodo using Ichijou as a human chair. And there's another part where he is lapping up wine in a big bowl like a dog while watching Kaiji on monitors playing Pachinko. And THEN he tells his blacksuits to lap up the wine too. XD

I feel exactly the same way about Tonegawa. Exactly.

Well to be honest if I had that kind of control over Ichijou I'd probably do the sa- I MEAN YES THAT IS VERY STRANGE.

I've seen/heard things similar to the wine bowl deal before, I don't know if it's a reference to something or what. But it's definitely something I've encountered before so it doesn't strike me as all that unusual.
