I went to a Neil Gaiman event once. They had the audience write questions on cards and then he flipped through them on stage and answered the ones that he wanted, the ones he had good answers to, and presumably the ones that he hadn't answered 1000 times before. I thought that was a great way for people there to get to ask questions, without the dreaded person getting up and asking a four minute question at the mic that just rambles on or is embarrassing.
