FUCKING TOOTHACHE

(Anonymous) 2017-08-16 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Can't get a dentist appointment for god knows how long as I'm in the registering process, and have to be at work in a few hours in a job where I have to be smiley and cheerful to people all day.

I want to sleep and I want to EAT, GODDAMNIT.

It's probably way too late for you to read this, but that sucks. I've been there, and I had one where the only thing that numbed the pain was ice, so I chugged ice water all day (and had to pee every five minutes.) Sometimes the combo of otc NSAIDs like tylenol or ibuprofen (which is better for bringing swelling down, I think) an ice pack, and either one of the otc numbing gels or clove essential oil (or a whole clove or two between your cheek and gums), but not if you're allergic, can help you hold out a bit longer. If you have health insurance but not dental, you could go to the ER (I'm assuming you're in the US) if it's bad enough to need pulling, or sometimes they can get you an antibiotic prescription. If you've only got the money for either antibiotics or painkillers, get the antibiotics, apparently a few years ago a man died by going for pain relief over stopping the infection.

On that horrifying note, good luck, I hope they can fit you in soon.
