Re: Solar Eclipse!

It was AWESOME! My gf got some really nice eclipse glasses from some science center thing a few months back, and luckily I'm working in the path of totality right now so she came down to my current work site and we watched it together.

When that little sliver went completely black in the glasses and we took them off for totality... holy fuck. Seriously maybe the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. It was absolutely literally breathtaking to look up and see that with my own two eyes. My gf started crying, which, I was just like 'aawwwwwww' but I mean that's just about the only sane reaction to seeing it. It's so incredible. Definitely one of the top five experiences of my life.

You could hear all over the site everyone cheering or being like "holy shit!" or whatever. It was so dark! And it looked so amazing! And the cicadas and crickets started chirping during the lead-up and it got so much cooler, and then all of a sudden about five minutes after totality they stopped all at once. And the light was so eerie. I didn't get to see any crescent slivers in the shadows bc there weren't any trees or anything nearby, though. :( I wanted to see that!
