Who watched? Did you go blind? How good of an eclipse did you have?

It was cloudy and rained here today, so we missed being able to witness it in my area :(.

I went out briefly around the closest we were going to get, borrowed some glasses, admired the tiny sliver of sun through the glasses, went back inside because it was 90some degrees out there.

Pretty good. Watched it with a pinhole. The crickets started chirping LOL.

I went out several times and saw parts of the begining and the end, but it got really cloudy right in the middle, so we mostly missed the peak (we weren't in totality anyway), but I caught a brief glimpse through the clouds and was shocked by how small the sliver was. I wasn't expecting 83% to be like that! Wish it had cleared up just a *little* then. It got really sunny later. Stupid sky.

I watched! I had partial but with good coverage (maybe 90%?) and was lucky to snag an extra pair of glasses from my folks, and to have a quiet enough afternoon that I could go outside for a while and look. There were a lot of people watching and I shared my glasses around a lot.

It was pretty cool!

I watched! Didn't get much work done between 1 and 4, but in my defense, neither did anyone else.

Got roughly... 90-95% totality? Somewhere in that range. Had the NASA-approved shades, and it was neat watching the crescent shift. Couldn't take a picture of the eclipse itself, but there were lots of trees with crescent shapes showing in the shadows on the ground. It was neat.

I didn't have anything to view it with so I took a nap, but I got up wondered if it was over, looked out the window at the sun because I'm fucking stupid sometimes, and fuck me.

I'm ok now, but it took a while for the orange spots to go away. It probably wasn't even the eclipse, just my stupid ass looking out the sun right after leaving a semi-dark room.

We had about 90% totality. I was amazed by how dark the inside of my house got! But now I have a headache even though I used the glasses.

It was clear here, really cool to see the crazy leaf shadows and thinning out water reflections. Some 90% totality, I was surprised how quick and long it got cold...the lighting and even colors were subtly eerie, too, but honestly I thought it'd get darker than it did. Definitely get why total totality's something to aim for...let people use my telescope, too - their "oh wow!"s were pretty great. :3

Complete totality which was real cool. Made a day trip out of it with my family and some friends of theirs.

I watched it. I was at work, but I was fortunate that my break time fell at 10:20-ish, when the eclipse reached eighty percent (we weren't in the path of totality). I loved it! It's been a very, very hot summer and I loved how it suddenly got cool and quiet. It made me feel strangely energetic and I kept running around to see the different shadows on the ground. I made a pinhole projector with a bird template we had lying around and snapped some pics. One of the workers at the bus barn next to us offered me his welding mask so I could look at the eclipse for a few seconds. So sweet! And I'm happy to say that I did not go blind. ^^

not much totality here. went outside during its peak and it just felt like an overcast afternoon. pretty boring!

We were at like - 98 percent total? (Needed to go an hour or two north to get total). Walked through a little belt of woods (it was awesome to see the dozens of little eclipse shadows through the tree leaves) and watched in a small military cemetery. The grey, flat light of 'total' eclipse was very eerie and strange, and the temp drop noticeably.

Pretty cool.

I watched! I work at a university library and have the week off, but I came to campus to join the viewing party out on our quad and let people borrow the viewing glasses I got from NASA last week (I'm in Government Documents). There were a couple thousand people out there -- it was pretty cool to see every age from 2-92 getting awed by what they saw behind the glasses. I took a couple of pictures of the sun with the glasses held over the lens, and of the lenticular patterns in the shadows. We got about 75% solar coverage and I was surprised by how little effect it had on the amount of light around us -- the light was a little odd, oddly dimmed like a strange storm was approaching, but you probably wouldn't have noticed anything if you didn't know what was happening.

It was AWESOME! My gf got some really nice eclipse glasses from some science center thing a few months back, and luckily I'm working in the path of totality right now so she came down to my current work site and we watched it together.

When that little sliver went completely black in the glasses and we took them off for totality... holy fuck. Seriously maybe the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. It was absolutely literally breathtaking to look up and see that with my own two eyes. My gf started crying, which, I was just like 'aawwwwwww' but I mean that's just about the only sane reaction to seeing it. It's so incredible. Definitely one of the top five experiences of my life.

You could hear all over the site everyone cheering or being like "holy shit!" or whatever. It was so dark! And it looked so amazing! And the cicadas and crickets started chirping during the lead-up and it got so much cooler, and then all of a sudden about five minutes after totality they stopped all at once. And the light was so eerie. I didn't get to see any crescent slivers in the shadows bc there weren't any trees or anything nearby, though. :( I wanted to see that!

Co-worker and I were supposed to be in a meeting at 2:30 but we managed to sneak outside and someone had nicked some of those welding plates for welding helmets and we used those to look at it. It was cool.

It was a bummer for us. The sky only got a bit more overcast than usual for like 15 minutes and then it was back to normal. I'm kind of relieved but also kinda disappointed. I was expecting the sky to go dark like night.

I'm nowhere near the path of totality (it only got to 70% in this area), so I wasn't terribly disappointed that I slept through it.

Not meee. I thought about it but it was only going to get to around 20-25% here and it was going to start at dawn.

The only cool thing about it would have been watching the sun rising while in partial eclipse.

But I'm on the wrong side of the island to watch the sun rise and like hell was I getting up at 4am to get ready and get over to the east side and find some good place to watch the sunrise from. And then it'd be over and everybody would be heading in to Honolulu for work (which I'd have to pass through to get back home and back to my work) and fml that would've been horrific. I probably would have sucked it up if it were more complete but not for that so I just slept in anyway.

I was at work, but I managed to sneak outside to get a peek at it. We were in like... 95%-98% totality maybe? So it was very close to a total eclipse but not quite all the way. One of my coworkers let us borrow her eclipse glasses so I was able to look at it and take pictures of it. The crescent shadows on the ground from the trees was pretty cool too. If I had the day off, I could've driven down to Columbia, SC to see it in total, but I'm pretty sure that there were a lot of people who had the same idea.

I stayed up to watch Oregon on NASA's live feed, then went to bed because it was 4AM.
