"Be GLAD you have a sprained ankle! Someone out there has a broken leg!" Well gee golly gosh, that's all fine and dandy but them having a broken leg doesn't make my ankle feel better. How about, "both of those things suck, and one sucking harder doesn't mean the other is FUN." Why is that so incredibly difficult for some people to understand.

Out of all the incredibly ridiculous things my friends/associates said after I was sexually assaulted a few years back, the worst one was "WELL AT LEAST HE DIDN'T BEAT YOU OR KILL YOU"

Ugh. Sorry you had to deal with such an idiotic statement from an obviously clueless person, on top of such a horrible experience.

I've been subjected to physical abuse, and I sure as fuck wouldn't say it was worse than the verbal, emotional, or psychological abuse I received. It's a dumb and insensitive comparison... abuse hurts no matter what it is.
