I totally get where you're coming from, OP. Some ships are incredibly squicky.
The amount of vitriol in these comments makes me think that people are rather defensive of their various ships...makes me wonder if you've hit a nerve lol.
Ship and let ship, but people also should understand why others may be squicked by their particular ship and not get all defensive about it.

It's not vitrol.

It's just that right now the latest trend seems to be accusing people of sekritly being into pedophilia and pedo ships as a tool to beat rival shippers over the head using buzzwords.

So, when the OP starts throwing around wank-worthy accusations, without providing any identifying information for people to judge for themselves, it begins to sound like ship-to-ship combat, or just someone being a shit-stirrer, rather than a legit complaint.

Me? I'm going with shit-stirrer myself. I don't think the OP is being the least little bit genuine here.

DA: Yup, that's the vibe I get too. There's legit squicky ships out there, and then there's ships that are dubbed problematic by rival shippers just because ship-and-let-ship is apparently not a thing in this the year of our lord 2017, so you have to label the other shippers as problematic before you can content yourselves.

DA - Yep, I get that vibe. Plus one of the very complicated things is, we don't know how fandom generally treats the pairing or how the characters are in canon.

Like lets say Joe and Fred are friends in a show, Joe is white and Fred is black. The show isn't notably racist, but fandom fanon is Joe has a huge fetish for black cock and Fred likes being called the n word during sex. Is it a racist pairing? No because canon? Yes because fanon? Maybe?

Now lets say Joe is fairly racist on the show, but the popular coffeeshop AU in fanon has Joe being a great guy who's never said a racist thing in his life and is very loving and supportive of Fred. Is it a racist pairing? Yes because canon? No because fanon? Maybe?

And also likely - There's a scene that goes
Joe: What's up my n...
Fred: *stare*
Joe: ...oteworthy friend?

Half of fandom: JOE'S A RACIST!!!
Other half of fandom: JOE'S NOT RACIST YOU'RE RACIST FOR ASSUMING HE MEANT ANOTHER N WORD!
Half of fandom: You're racist if you ship him with Fred!
Other half of fandom: WTF?!?! You're racist if you DON'T ship him with Fred!

So that makes any discussions complicated. And then there's trying to make connections between what you like in fiction and what you like IRL being a whole giant mess and me watching Moana doesn't mean I think 16 year old girls should be set adrift alone in the ocean on sailboats. But trying to explain that you know it's ok because it's fictional is hard when people are screaming at you that you're pro-drowning teenagers and that makes you a sicko. You don't like Moana because you're anti-drowning teens? Cool, but that doesn't make you more moral than me because I'm ok with fictional teens in danger.
