That is the one that made it seem to me like Vulcans have a choice. Vorik seemed like he had a choice and forced himself on Torres anyway. And then no one calls him out on it and everything is just fine and dandy later with no consequences for him. If nothing else, how can she still work beside him?

I love Voyager, but the writing never dealt with consequences of people's actions very well. I was always put off by the episode where Torres reprograms the doctor (basically mind rape of a sentient being at that point) so she can gentically alter her fetus and she got nothing more than a reprimand (if that?).

But, I think ToS said it best when it was implied that the only choice is fuck, fight or die. I think the only choice is your partner, but your mental state and decision making is severely impaired, so even that choice is practically taken away from you the further along you are in Pon Farr.
