And for the most part, the people who periodically start screaming about how dangerous mainstream fiction that depicts those relationships are and how the writers are clearly actual rl pedophiles are brushed off as pearl clutching loons.

It's also not that rare in literary fiction - because remember, we're talking about teenagers here, not seven year olds, and it's culturally accurate to a lot of settings.
