Consider:

I can think that writing about adolescent sexuality is a dangerous area that needs to be handled with a great deal of sensitivity, and also think that tumblr is completely dysfunctional with "discourse" bloggers accusing people of supporting pedophilia on the basis of just sharing a social network with someone who has ambiguous fanart, loli, or boy's love.

If your standard for "supporting pedophilia" is that I've reblogged without vetting someone's entire posting history for questionable content, or worse, that I've failed to issue a "call out" of a complete stranger who happens to share a political opinion you dislike, I'm going to think you're an asshole using CSA survivors as a tool for a McCarthyist agenda of harassment.

Previous paragraph hypothetical because I locked my tumblr over a year ago because tumblr supports that kind of harassment.

And furthermore, I'm not going to trust your intentions regarding CSA "callouts" if all of them target a small number of fandoms, or a certain position in "teh discourse."

Is it just me, or do the antis keep trying to push it very general in their arguments? "15 year olds" "children" "adults" When truthfully it seems to be the trend in fandom that everything's on a case by case basis.

It reminds me of how the other popular buzzword is "homophobia" for shipping because if they ship het they hate gay people or if they ship slash they fetishize it. But it's always put in very vague terms, such as mlm/wlw erasure or mlm/w/w fetishization. It's much more rarely "They ship kylux" because then the topic is clearly fictional and you're fighting over fictional characters.

see i think this is a completely reasonable and realistic position to have. anything of this subject should be written w/ care and sensitivity, even if its a sexual fantasy. but there is absolutely some kind of bizarre moral panic happening across tumblr/twitter fandoms because people misunderstand that the mere existence of questionable or degenerate artwork is endorsement or perpetuation of the acts depicted therein, when that's not the case whatsoever...

I don't think it's that much of a "moral panic" at all. I think bad-faith actors are using social justice issues as rationalizations for cliquish behavior and harassment.

yeah, i agree with that, but also i think a lot of them truly believe the things they say and actually consider people who think its ok to make this kind of art predators.

Damn, this is reasonable.
