150: I don't get pissed at South Park or whatever when they make fun of Christianity, so I'll never really get why people find that upsetting.

N!S 08: Didn't SPN fandom get upset when Dean said "Can you be any more gay?" or whatever it was to Sam? And they were so upset, the writers apologized? Should SPN fandom have instead shut up and let homophobic!Dean go on his merry way, and got off their computers and went to a gay march?

I'm not saying it's bad they got angry, or that SPN fans don't go to gay marches, I'm saying: Why the double standard? Didn't half of SPN fandom lose its head before the second and the third season because they thought Sam and Dean would play second fiddle to new characters? And then Kripke changed his show around accordingly? C'mon, dude. I mean, I have a problem with this secret altogether, but are you kidding me?

Totally. I'm very tired of the "stop complaining about racism/sexism/homophobia on your show and do something about it in RL" comments. Umm, I do both. And have none of them made any connections between negative cultural representations of minorities and oppressed groups and "RL" problems? Stupid people need to get off the internet. Which will never happen. But I can keep bitching about them ...

The homophobia thing? I think so, and got results. That's what I've heard, but I wasn't in SPN at the time so I don't have proof beyond what my SPN-fan friends have said.
