but it's not just the proportions, it's also the posing. Like the fact that their knees are turned inwards but heels out. And if one knee is so far behind the other, the thigh gap would probably not be visible.
These poses are not natural, they're contorted specifically for the most curviness in the hip area (because if the knees are close together, the thighs create a more obvious curve), and the thigh gap.

OP didn't talk about the posing specifically though, all they said is that if you draw the princesses with a thigh gap then that's for some reason horrible.

If they wanted to talk about artists and how they handle anatomy, they should have worded the secret differently.

Though the point still stands that these aren't supposed to be realistic drawings.

If they're not supposed to be realistic drawings, it comes back to the fact that these artists are dedicated enough to thigh gaps that they'll wilfully skew anatomy and everything else just for the sake of that precious little gap.
So yeah, I can see how the gap is a stand-in for something OP finds exceedingly obnoxious, because to me at least visually, that little triangle of light in the middle of the body kind of highlights everything that's wrong with the pose and the anatomy. It would honestly look less awful to me if the pose was the same, but no gap.

I think saying the anatomy is skewed for the sake of a thigh gap is exaggerating things a bit, the anatomy is skewed because it just is. Cartoons have exaggerated anatomy. Why is the thigh gap the specific thing that is so bothersome? Why not the skinny waist? The head proportions?

I mean I will concede that Belle's is weird because you should be seeing the jacket behind that gap and not yellow, but they don't bother me that much. They aren't the best drawings but they aren't the worst either.

But this still doesn't answer why thigh gaps bother op, like what if the pose was done more realistically, where you would see a gap in some people? Would it still bother OP?

I can't speak for OP, and I'm not really into Disney fanarts in general. But I personally find most representations of thigh gap about as obnoxious as boobs-n-butt pose. Yeah, women CAN do it, but that doesn't make the pose reasonable.
I have no issue with characters having a thigh gap. But too often it seems like it's more of a way to like... highlight the pussy? Specifically in poses where the thigh gap should not actually be nearly that visible. There's something fetishistic about it imo.

Well yeah, the anatomy just isn't very good in these drawings. They were done by an amateur.
