Not seen, but some of the best descriptions of food come from A Song of Ice and Fire IMO. Every time GRRM wrote about a feast, I was like "fuck, I want to be there!"

Fortunately, having A Feast of Ice and Fire at least will help me feel like I'm there :P

I used to read these mysteries which had big descriptions of these elaborate sandwiches the detective would make. I would always get hungry even though I don't like sandwiches and usually didn't even like his ingredients, because he was obviously enjoying them so much.

LOL, yes. GRRM loves his food description and I enjoy it, too. I don't know if you've read his book "Fevre Dream" but the main character (who is totally an authorial self insert) has this feast involving like... a dozen oysters and two whole chickens and god knows what else. It's amazing.

It amuses me that he's better at describing feasts than he is at describing sex scenes. Most of his sex scenes are awful and unappealing, but the feasts sound delicious.

LOL well, maybe that's indicative of where all his real life experience is...
