The 1985 Anne of Green Gables adaptation didn't stick strictly to the book, but in spirit it is the absolute best version of the story. The cast is perfect, the setting is perfect and Megan Followes is unmatchable as Anne Shirley.

I've never read the book because the show was perfect enough for me!

I love the books, but in a different way. They're a bit more repetitive than the films, but they also have a lot more lovely detail. Very worth a read if you enjoyed the movie!
