God, even if you were excepting concrit, why does that mean "rewrite your fic right now!"? I think of concrit for fanfic as "I will take that into consideration in future writing", unless otherwise stated.

I've been told to take down my fic once for talking about in this very comm. some people who read fanfic are just really entitled.

This exactly. Even if it's as easy as changing a comma or homonym, sometimes I prefer to let the story stand so I can think back on it and remember to try and do better in the future. That is, if I even accept the concrit as being correct.

I'll accept most concrit with a smile and a thank you, say I will work harder in the future, and let them know I'm done writing this particular fic (unless I don't want to be done with it), and no one has ever pushed further.

In other words, that sucks, OP. Glad you left that awful community.

I got concrit once that was pointing out I sometimes messed up my commas vs. periods when ending dialogue. That was fine, I paid more attention in the future, but I wasn't about to go back and edit previously posted stuff.
