Worst: Sailor Moon Crystal. It felt like the people responsible couldn't decide if it was supposed to be a straight adaptation of the manga or its own thing, so they ended up with something that failed at both. Literally the only reason it's the closest adaptation to the manga is because the '90's anime and the live action show are so radically different.

Prisoner of Azkaban is a close second. It's my favorite book, and the movie was a start of several trends I dislike in the rest of the movies.

Best: I liked the Stardust and Coraline movies better than the books.

I liked Howl's Moving Castle despite/because it was so different.
