(Played the game by sharing a friend's steam account, I think it was okay and quite lighthearted enough but I'm not paying $15 for a short and buggy game.)

A lot of the marketing and publicity concerning this game has been weird in the first place (cue the fanboys' ire about Game Grumps marketing this as their game and making wittle boys everywhere expect it's a parody of a gay dating sim), and while I did just shrug that article off as 'Okay whatever' I did accept that sometimes you might not get the exact ending you want. One of the dads don't 'put out' but the game does imply that a future relationship will happen in the future. I've only done 4 of the routes so far, though so I'm not sure what the other dads are doing.

That said, I totally respect how you felt about what the developers said tho. I think one comment in this thread has made me feel maybe in a similar way, something about there not being a bishounen stereotype to be seen in Dream Daddy? There's no need to put down people who like games that go with the bishounen stereotype. Or whatever else cliche tropes there are in (let's say it) Japanese gaming.

Didn't happen (yet). All I said was that Dream Daddy wasn't in the realm of yaoi because the entire primary cast are 40-ish fathers (and therefore, not youths) of diverse and different body types and interests. I do have a profound dislike for the formulaic gender and sex roles of yaoi, and think their mass-marketing ultimately harms GBQ men, but that's a different subject.
