There is good stuff out there, it just depends on the genre. I will admit I like the occasional pop song. But a lot of current metal is great. And there are some decent indie groups.

Aren't all pens that aren't the cheep ball point ones gel pens? Or do you mean specifically the ones that come in multi-colored packs? Because most of the pens I use say gel. I like them because the grip is better and they last longer than cheep-ass ball point pens.

Also bootcut jeans because they are the style that looks best on me. I simply can't wear skinny jeans, and even straight leg ones don't look great on me.

Also American Girl dolls (the original set), and roller blades. I hated biking as a kid, but I loved roller blades. I kind of want to try them again.
