The Sims

I have never played but my friend is always sharing Sims memes and now I want to. What features do you like best? What do you hate? Tell me some of your Sims stories!

I like using Sims to build houses and community lots. when I started using it again last year I would only use it for that purpose and at one point someone had to remind me that Sims doesn't have laundry machines because they're pretty useless to sims.

I also love being able to make huge soap opera dramas with my sims, using money cheats very liberally.

LMFAO I totally have The Sims Deluxe Edition (2002) on my computer. I can't play it for nearly as long as I used to back when I was 8 years old, but it's great when I'm feeling like I need a distraction (from life... oddly enough).

My favourite part, always, is doing that rosebud;! cheat and making the most perfect mansion. I love the music that plays in the background in builder mode too <3 I made a Justice League home like 2 years ago and the Wonder Woman section of it is a masterpiece.

I only play the Sims 2 and all its expansion packs. I make Fandom-related houses -- my current eighborhood has Star Trek TNG, Harry Potter, Growing Pains and Modern Family residents.

So far, characters are mostly sticking to their own fandoms, but Welsey Crusher became good friends with Percy Weasley in college. I pretty much love everything about Sims , except I wish relationships weren't so all-or-nothing. Like you can have romance sims who just want to fuck everything, but if you have a couple romance sims together, they still get pissed when the other is with other people.

There should be a fuckbuddy option.

Yeah, me too. I got the Sims 2 when they made it all available for free when they put out Sims 4. But most of mine are based off original characters or Star Wars characters.

And I'm really irritated by the 'no fuckbuddy' option as well, hahah. You have a Sim that wants to have lots of relationships so you try to facilitate that but then one of the relationships happens to see the Sim with another one even if it's just like a kiss on the cheek or whatever and SUDDENLY you have to deal with months of your garbage bin being pushed over and fights breaking out whenever you cross paths.

I usually switch to a different Sim for a while when that happens, hah.

I like to make characters from my favorite fandoms and see how they interact with each other. In order to fully enjoy it, though, I have to remove "default" sims and prevent them from aging. The "motherlode" cheat doesn't hurt either. ;)

I have a Steven Universe game running on Sims 3. I made the Beach House as best as I could with what the game offered. The characters look like the show as much as possible. I started with Rose Quartz & Greg Universe married and Steven Universe & Connie Maheswaran married. Rose had Pearl and Amethyst and Connie had Garnet and Lars. Their personalities and interests are as close to the show as possible - Steven has mastered the guitar, is childish, and is friendly; Connie is a bookworm and plays the violin [bought in Sims store]; Pearl is a clean freak & likes astronomy; Lars is a natural cook who likes to be alone.
I added the Steven Universe Soundtrack and the other SU music on SoundCloud to the Sims 3's original music folder so I can listen to the soundtrack while playing Sims 3. I thought about changing the paintings the Sims characters paint to SU backgrounds and characters, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet.
Thanks to the motherlode cheat, they have $10,000,000+ and own the whole town. I made them as immortal as possible and everyone has a death flower in case something happens and the grin reaper comes.

The Sims 2 is the one I play the most. I love the inclusion of negative things (fears, turn-offs, brief mental breakdowns) and the 'little' things, like when one Sim dies their ghost may pick up a suitcase and cry while another snatches their hourglass away from the Grim Reaper and turns it upside down. What I dislike...the Create-A-Sims's pretty limited compared to TS3 and 4.

Can't think of a story, really, but I usually let the AI do its thing. One time a tree caught fire. One Sim went to put it out and stopped to panic, another guy followed him, caught himself on fire, and they flailed around shrieking while a third Sim walked up and put all that shit out. Made me laugh, anyway.

I am bloody addicted to gardening in the Sims 3, and if it will work with my mods, 4 as well. I am not a great builder, as houses I make turn out rather boxy. I do however like making basements and setting up gardens in them with the gardening rugs introduced in "Into the Future" (the last expansion for The Sims 3, with time travel and a visitable future world).

I prefer The Sims 3 more, because it's got a lot more features in it than 4 does, even if 4 has improved on features it has so far covered. The other advantage of 3 is that since it's a finished game with no more updates, one doesn't have it break down at every update anymore.

I do have a pretty strong computer system that mostly copes well with S3 - it's a demanding game to run and you need a very powerful system to run it, especially the way I do with all expansions turned on. I upgraded my computer a couple of years ago for the Witcher 3 and that was able to carry S3.

I have a pile of characters, some my own invention, some Fandom-inspired like my Silmaril sisters and the Fëanorion brothers (Maedhros and Maglor).

All except one of my icons I use around here are sims from either S3 or S4. Usually Elenaria Surana (or Trevelyan in S3, since she's married), Oraania Praadecallin or Mimi Sardinia.
