I tried Sims 3 or 4 once with no idea how to play, the character I made ended up living in a big empty house with the bare necessities and all he did was work, sleep, do laps in the pool in his basement, and got no social interaction besides talking to the plants in his back yard which was apparently enough social interaction for him to stay at max health and happiness and whatever other stat bars there were

Pretty sure I was playing this wrong, but he was a happy little sim and I like to imagine his sim neighbors thought of him as the crazy guy who lived in the big empty house in the corner who never talked to any of them for literally his entire life, but had some interesting discussions with his shrubs
