Re: To anyone who read the book when it first released
The ghost writer who took over after Virginia Andrews died probably just echoed all the same themes she'd written, over and over again.

I think my point is on a whole the Virginia Andrews books were very light on detailed sex scenes, despite the other adult themes that came up in them. I have read far more explicit novels than VC Andrews along the way.
