Basically all of the Persona 5 cast have been reduced to one obnoxious trait, but Goro Akechi and Ryuji Sakamoto have been especially hit.

Soldier 76 from Overwatch. After rewatching that fanvid I linked, I am sad about how he has been turned into the 'Dad Character' and that is sort of embraced by Blizzard. His animated short makes him seem more like a Punisher type of character. That is what I want to see more of.

I am biased because Annie Leonhardt is one of my favorite characters, but everyone else in the fandom has such a shitty characterization for her. She is either a 100% cold hearted bitch or she desperately needs someone's dick to save her and make her one of the "good" guys.

Loki.

I love him as the vicious shithead that he is but he got turned into a pretty big 'he never did anything wrong' woobie in fandom(or worse blaming Thor for his behaviour, no guys that's all on Loki). This was a few years ago mind you so maybe that crowd has gotten quieter but it was annoying as shit to be a fan of his and seeing lots of people trying to excuse his bullshit.

This is for good reason since the character is a nicer version of the actor himself (not saying much, they're both asses); Pierce Hawthorn

I don't love him but I find Chevy Chase's delivery and physical comedy so funny :(

Ross Gellar from Friends; love his physical comedy omfg, so classic. Seeing stuff like that makes me wish the Oscars weren't seemingly only reserved for the more serious and dramatic roles. Not that the Oscars mean anything, but still

Oscars? I can't quite figure out what you mean by this because the Emmys and Golden Globes both have comedy categories and the Oscars are for movies, not television. David Schwimmer was nominated for an Emmy as Ross Gellar.

James T. Kirk whose fandom mangling has become canon thanks to the new movies (which I enjoy, well 1 and 3, but they don't get Kirk right at all).

Spike and Angel both from Buffy. Also Buffy herself.

Anna and Elsa from Frozen. Also, Belle from BatB surprisingly...

Like, everyone from Buffy and Angel.

How does fandom screw with Belle? Could any of it be from conflating animated and live action Disney Belle? Or for that matter, both of them and other versions of Beauty?

I am so sick of Woobie Sam Winchester. (I'm not particularly fond of fics that woobify Dean either, but I run across a lot fewer of those, so I have less of a visceral "ugh, this again" reaction.

Prompto Argentum from FFXV. I hate that he's super woobified, but I also hate that people swing way too far in the other direction and make him a NO CRY EVER HARDASS like... guys. There's a middle ground and that's where he is. He's a deeply flawed, anxiety-ridden character that rides it all out in style and supports his friends regardless.

I mean, he flat out says to Noctis that his happy-go-lucky persona is a façade he wears over his anxiety, and that's so interesting to play with, but people just go way too far in either direction with it.

James T. Kirk's reputation as a playboy and cowboy is greatly exaggerated.
