Ever thought that maybe you're not justified in prematurely judging someone you might not have meant because of their religion? Ever thought that maybe nor everyone is overly bitchy and you actually are being kind of a bigot?

I've never judged anyone because of their religion. I agree with your secret, but I just had had a really negative meeting with someone who kept screaming BIGOT!! at everyone not sharing his opinion, and I guess I'm still kind of touchy about that. Sorry, if I came across as your usual bigot asshat, because I'm really not one.

Ah, okay. I'm not the OP, jus someone who has gotten a lot of the same treatment even though I'm very respectful and quiet about my faith. I never bring it up to try and convert people or make them agree with me, but when I do say "yeah, I'm Christian" I get ragged on incredible amounts, even though I haven't actually done anything.

So I think I just misunderstood you, too.

Apparently it's a touchy subject on both sides, which is sad, because a few idiots really shouldn't have such a big influence on fandom :)

Personally, I have NEVER shoved my beliefs in people's face online, nor ever told them they should believe otherwise than they do. But I hate that whenever religion comes up, if I mention that I believe in anything I'm automatically treated like some sort of moron.
And I hate the general bashing that goes on without any reason or call.
I don't think it's everybody, either, but I think it's a very unpleasant and nasty trend. (considering that just last week in one of the comments here somebody actually said something along the lines that religious people don't deserve to be in fandom at all. WTF?)
