102. ... Why do you care if other people know you're interested in the genre? It's something you like, if they get bent out of shape or think stupid things over it, they're the ones being stupid. Enjoy yourself ♥

103. You know, a huge butt-ton of us, including the ones that are rather anti-religious (I think it's harmful at its core, but that religious people can be very good people still, and non-religious people CAN still be assholes), don't actually care if you're religious or not. I tend to be a bit wry about it (known too many fangirls who giggle over yaoi and go "ew! ew! it's so wrong!" about anyone gay in real life, and had one too many people decide that being in fandom and enjoying the things she enjoyed was betraying her religion), but I don't let it seep into my fandom relationships- or my personal ones, for that matter.

That said, if people are going to be mocking beliefs, just try to ignore them. People hold their own opinions and are going to express them, some of them might not even mean to be asses about it, some of them might. Let it slide off as best you can, because in this case, you're in the right- fandom has nothing to do with whether you're religious or not, and you can fangirl all you like without getting flack for it. Just keep in mind that, if you're referring to the secrets that've been posted here sometimes, I think for the most part they're referring to specific, more extreme examples, like the fandom people who say that the very existance of slash fans is an evil thing that ruins the fandom, etc.

You're just fine ♥

105. I have crushes on slightly-less-anthropomorphic-than-Sonic-characters gay alien frogs. Don't be ashamed. XD

106. The thing about crushes is you gotta think hard about them, sometimes. I'm pretty much functionally a lesbian, but in fandom I go "ooooOOOOoooooh" at the pretty guys more than the hot girls. However, I've realized that I'm still 100% more likely to "tap" the female characters than any of the males, no matter how hot I think the males ARE (with a few exceptions) XD

109. ... Are you really pissed off that the creator of a show did something with HIS OWN CHARACTERS that you personally don't like a little detail of? Or are you overstating? Because. Wow.

115. HELL YES those three. XD I want crossovers. NOW. RIGHT NOW. Possibly involving the fact that they all look EXACTLY ALIKE. ♥ (Sena and Tsuna are way more alike than Sora is with either of them, so I usually boggle at the people who say TSUNA = SORA because Tsuna so obviously = Sena. XD)

119. Don't worry about the elitists. "Elitist" is essentially a fancier, more acceptable word for "stuck-up assholish retard." If you're a fan, you're a fan~

120. GTFO the Internet ♥

121. Uh... why? o_O;;

122. ... the last part of your secret is just. Like. Me. Hell. o_o

128. Unfortunately, it seems like over the Internet, people have this REALLY DUMBASS HABIT of judging a person once, usually very quickly, and then getting it in their heads that this person can NEVER CHANGE EVER. I think having someone godknowshowmany miles away on the other side of a computer screen makes it really, really easy to forget that they're actually a human being and not a charicature. ):

That said, if someone is that retarded that they think you being wanky once means you are a horrible evil person forever and ever and ever and will never change ever, you might be better off without their company.

129. So... giving him tits will suddenly make the show interesting? God, I can feel the people who say a character would be more interesting as another gender, and genderswitches are fascinating, but that's some concentrated level of fail right there. Some of us are waiting for a girl!Doctor with bated breath, but the Doctor is amazing in ANY of his incarnations. Shallow fan is really, really shallow.

136. L-last line made me laugh a lot. XDDDD

In order though, for me anyway: BOTH HOT, BOTTOM HOTTER, TOP HOTTER.

I obviously need to get back into Bleach just because of THESE dicks ♥

Have you seen the documentary?

Re: 121

[identity profile] poisontea.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, no, I can't- and I didn't really mean that "why?" to come out dismissive, by the way, I am actually completely curious. XD Is that one of the VA's? *loves the series, but ack, knows like nothing behind the scenes of it*

Re: 121

[identity profile] loverboy.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
No.

It's a documentary about real hosts and not the shit you see in yaoi manga and Ouran. It's pretty depressing because their lives and the lives of the people they work for are... not pleasant at all. (Basically the hosts drink all night and pretty much grow to dislike and even hate women and the women that come to see them truly believe they are in love and some of the women expect the hosts to quit their jobs and marry them and shit... when the hosts don't even like them.)

It's a really good watch if you ever get the chance.

Re: 121

[identity profile] poisontea.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, it sounds interesting. I'll have to give it a watch! I'll probably be pretty D: watching it, it sounds like a horrible way to live.

Still, that said, I think it's overreacting a little to not be able to enjoy Ouran because of it. I know about the evils of World War II and still enjoy the Nazis in Hellsing, I know what the mafia is really like and still enjoy Reborn. Fiction doesn't have anything to do with real life, and the Host Club in Ouran is really a "host club" in name only. I can see where it'd be a depressing watch, but I doubt it'll make Ouran bother me or anything.

Re: 121

[identity profile] loverboy.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
I was very much D: and :'( when I watched it. I really want to watch it again, too. :o

For me (I dunno about the OP) I just don't like how they glorify the whole thing. And then fans think host clubs are all sparkly kawaii bubbles and happy tea time... I dunno. It's just not a job that should be viewed as a happy and fun job, imho.

Re: 121

[identity profile] poisontea.livejournal.com 2008-06-16 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
I look forward to seeing it; I like movies that make me cry, because I am masochistic that way. XD

Mm, I can understand that I guess? But it's a high-school, utterly tamed-down version actually started with good intentions. I doubt any of the Ouran boys would get out of school and go join an ACTUAL host club, because of all the problems with them. But I like that Tamaki is actually doing something that could be very bad/suspicious and doing it with utterly pure intentions, and being just very... sweet.

If fans automatically assume something like that is a nice thing because of an anime, I worry for fandom. But then, I worry for fandom anyway. XD;

OP of 122

I'll be your Anonymous twin. ♥

A-awesome! =D I love gender confusion and anything that messes with gender stereotypes, in fiction and IRL. I'm just not physically attracted to males and can't seem to overcome that one, but I AM pan-attracted romantically (if not sexually) to anyone, and I am inordinately pleased about the fact that when I've cosplayed, people have referred to me by male pronouns before. XD

ANDROGYNY-TWINS GETTO ♥

(Anonymous) 2008-06-16 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
I obviously need to get back into Bleach
You do that! ^__^ It's so damn awesome.

But just some advice: The latest anime episodes are filler again and SUCK! Big time!
So you better hook up to the manga. ;)
