Naraku didn't die until the last 5 chapters of the series. LULZ.

Yeah, generally the main villain doesn't die until the... end.

Yeah, but the main villain doesn't usually get confronted so early in the manga and get spawned over and over again that many times for such a long period of time. That's why "Is Naraku dead yet?" became a meme of sorts.

I do think InuYasha is worse than Bleach. At least most actions that are done in Bleach is helping towards the main plot of the series and it doesn't take as long, and that it doesn't nearly copypasta as much as Inuyasha did. Let's admit that amount of action and character development that Inuyasha has in a whole couldn't warranted 550+ chapters in the pacing was done properly. Takahashi could've cut half of the chapters and it wouldn't make a difference and probably then been too many chapters.

And in before someone accuses me of being a Bleach lover, I personally think Bleach is the worst of the Big Three.

To be fair, Naraku isn't actually introduced until several volumes into the series (and we don't actually meet him until a few volumes later). But are they supposed to face just minions for volumes on end then without ever seeing the main villain? I really think that's a lot worse. And he never... respawns? He just doesn't die.

Let's admit that amount of action and character development that Inuyasha has in a whole couldn't warranted 550+ chapters in the pacing was done properly.

I never denied that the series is far too long. I wholeheartedly agree it is. I've spent the last year or two groaning at a huge chunk of the chapters.

Takahashi could've cut half of the chapters and it wouldn't make a difference and probably then been too many chapters.

But I think this is a huge exaggeration. I think she could have cut 150 at the most (which is still far too much, but yeah).

Main villian, wtf. He ended up that way but even Rumiko has said she had no fucking clue where she was going when she started writing it and basically pulled Naraku as the main villian out of her ass.
