But for fuck's sake I feel in love with these characters in a certain setting and I would like them to stay there, because the setting is part of what makes them who they are. I don't want to read about them being vampires or werewolves or foreign correspondents or master chefs, but that is suddenly all the fuck there is.
(And yes, I write my own fic that is in-universe, so I am doing the thing, but you know, sometimes you just want to read)

It was actually pretty good. I don't recall if they kept specific in universe things -- like magic, but yeah. They manage to make even their nationalities work within their AU frame. I was very surprised that I enjoyed it.
