Re: Non-fandom rants

I hate being such a little pussy bitch at message boards. I can't be confident at anything I post if it's in opposition to the view of the person I'm replying to, and I always get this feeling of dread, like they're going to rake my ass over the hot coals and dox me or some shit just because I dared to have an opinion. And it doesn't matter if its a debate where I hold mounds of irrefutable proof, I must be wrong and either everyone will turn on me or a few will and the rest will just shrug.

I mean, I'm aware this is all just silliness in my head, but I struggle with it all the time and I hate it. So I try to stick to as many lighthearted posts as possible, and only jump in debates when it's "safe" and I know I have someone to back me up. I hate being a coward.

I can relate too this, although my problem is a little different. I actually have a lot of conviction in my opinions and views. Twenty people disagreeing with me probably won't convince me I'm wrong if I've thought something through and feel confident in my opinion. But I hate conflict so much that it doesn't really matter that I believe I'm right; people's hostility feels just as bad regardless.
