And the real stories are from people who are always going to have their own bias about how they or their family member was totes innocent of doing nothing.
It's hardy like any law enforcement is perfect, but the actual failings are never actually highlighted by people who haven't a fucking scooby about how shit actually works.

And I'm not going to say I know how to do the job of a police officer. But I know the system. I'm a lawyer. And the truth is, for everyone else who isn't a cop, indictment is all but automatic and then things are sorted out in the trial. Police, on the other hand, rarely are indicted. That isn't an opinion. That is simply looking at the statistics. And police should be held to a higher standard, not a lower standard, since they are supposed to be enforcing our laws and keeping people safe.

Fucking l e l.
And the reality is police by virtue of their job role are orders of magnitude more likely to be in a position where lethal force is required. Particularly if they're American. Yes if Joe Bloggs is involved in a shoot out and somebody dies they're probably going to be indicted, but if Joe Bloggs is a member of SWAT and in uniform I hope I don't have to explain to a lawyer why they probably won't be.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-06 04:06 am (UTC)(link)I am so angry with you right now
(Anonymous) 2017-10-06 08:03 am (UTC)(link)Then FUCK RIGHT OFF with your police stanning after giving me an effusive apology.
/which you won't because you will try to pass it off as hearsay/'bias'. NOT. HEARSAY. MY FUCKING LIFE FOR MONTHS until WE installed security at a cost of several thousand and ongoing. Husband nearly had a breakdown.
Again FUCK RIGHT OFF. You should be ashamed of yourself. And don't even try to say what they did "why do you let him out of the house?" Yeah, sure, imprison him, that'll do it.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-06 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)Ah, here it is. The "they were asking for it" defense. I have news for you: you don't have to be innocent as the new fallen snow in order to have the right not to be shot offhand by the cops.
