142: I had something similar happen last year. Those extra 20 pounds I'd learned to live with (and was thanking for minutely lowering my osteoporosis risk) suddenly had to go, and through absolutely no fault of their own. Genes will fuck you over royally. I could have decided not to do anything, but I really want to keep my feet.

I'd wager that knowing you have the health problem is making you feel at least as bad as the change in yourself. You've gone from being happy to being "defective," and I know that's a major mood-killer. Give it about a year (which if you had bariatric is about the right timeframe anyway), then see how you feel about yourself.

152: Ugh, I know. In my own original stuff I always end up using "behind," just for tone.
