Drove 25 minutes longer than I had to because I was too nervous to change lanes in traffic. But at least I am getting better.

That sounds like a thing I have done and would do again. Some days I am like I just do not trust these other drivers at all, and why don't people recognize how risky cars are??? Other days I am better though. And then there are moments that I am that overly aggressive driver because fuck you I'm driving here that's why. I am glad you are getting better. Don't be me though.

May I just say how proud I am of you?

I mean, obviously I'm only following your journey through your occasional update here, but I've been a licensed driver in my state who doesn't drive because of terrible driver's anxiety and too little practical practice for years.

You've come really far this year on your journey. It's nice to see. Inspiring, even. I'm proud of you.

Thank you! It has been a long journey. If I had not looked into a driving class, I'd probably still be unlicensed. But at 29 I finally did it.

I still get super anxious and I don't think I will ever like driving. Sometimes I have to repeatedly say out loud "Everything is okay. You are doing fine." I am still trying to force myself to do things I hate (passing sometime D:).

But it is a long process that you just got to keep on. If you want to help your anxiety, I would totally suggest a driving class. Though, you still probably have deal with a room of 16 year old kids for the classroom portion. :P
