(Anonymous) 2017-10-13 07:16 am (UTC)(link)In the majority of cases, changing someone's traditionally masculine features into traditionally feminine features is going to be a lot more challenging than simply making someone's pre-existing features more conventionally ideal. So to expect Caitlyn's appearance to be flawless and to show no sign of cosmetic work is frankly unrealistic. The fact that her face does not appear to be 100% natural does not, in her case, make the results "botched." They are every bit as good as could have been expected, particularly given the extent of the change and the age she was when she underwent the change.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-13 08:22 am (UTC)(link)Are...are you serious? My entire second paragraph is literally me explaining why. But ok, let me make this even more simply for you.
What makes a cosmetic procedure "botched"? A "botched" cosmetic procedure is a cosmetic procedure that looks markedly less good than it was reasonably expected to look, and in many cases actually makes the person look worse than they did before the procedure.
Caitlyn Jenner's cosmetic procedures did not make her look worse than she did before. In order to have made her look worse, her procedures would've had to either disfigured her in some way (which they clearly did not do) or they would've had to make her look more masculine than she was before, as the appearance of femininity was the desired result of the procedures. Caitlyn's procedures clearly did neither of those things. Furthermore, the results of Caitlyn's procedures were not markedly less good than they could reasonably be expected to be. They did what they were intended to do, as well as they could reasonably be expected to do so. Therefore, the results or Caitlyn's procedures are, by definition, not "botched."

(Anonymous) 2017-10-13 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)That's like saying plastic surgery to reverse extreme burn scarring should be held to the same standards as a limp plump. One is going in doing its damn best to fix an extreme fuck-up, one is doing a minor feature enhance.
Caitlyn may be a piece of shit Republican, but getting cosmetic surgery to fix a birth defect is not the same.
