When people tag f/f ships on Ao3 when the story is predominately m/m. And the f/f ship has like a few lines in the background...

It’s one of the reasons I’m not as fond of ao3 as other people because holy fuck does it happen a lot.

yeah... close to half the tag for my m/m ship is as a background pairing in a het ship. I don't mind the pairing but a lot of it is full of romance tropes I really don't like.

doesn't AO3 let you tag background pairings in "other tags" so that this doesn't happen? I swear I saw an AO3 post about that once but I don't post there so I don't know :(
