I was ninteen when someone first recced me Twilight, and when I read the back cover in a book store I was suuuuper derisive of it. But I ended up reading the first two books (and movies) in my mid-twenties and enjoying the hell out of them as guilty pleasures.

The same thing also happened, a bit, with teen shows like Gossip Girl and Dawson's Creek. At ninteen or twenty I was just like, "Lol, such trash." But sometime in my mid twenties I got minorly into both as guilty pleasures.

The thing is, I don't think I was pretending to have zero interest in that stuff when I was in my late teens. I think I just hadn't learned to expand my taste in fiction to include cheesy OTT interpersonal drama at that point.
