Little worries

(Anonymous) 2017-10-17 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
I am always worried my neighbors can hear me singing when they are outside on their back porch. I need to do a test to see if they can.

I worry my neighbors can hear me baby talking to my dog.

I live in an apartment and I have a piano keyboard. I keep the volume low, but I play and sing and get self-conscious about people hearing me, too.

Also I live alone and will walk around my apartment naked and I don't bother to always close the shades. I should probably be more worried about that than I am...

I feel you on the keyboard thing. My dad makes music (he has a huge setup with drum machines/guitars etc.) and he's always really respectful about volume, but he had a neighbour for a year or so that started complaining. He apologized and stopped doing music for a while, then he started coming around to complain about stuff like just him talking on the phone or watching TV. He put his foot in the door one night while I was around and threatened to call the police because he was watching golf at 9 in the evening. :/

I walk around my house naked without making sure to close the curtains, too, although usually I'm just grabbing clothes and getting dressed after getting out of the shower.

I don't trust the blinds in my bedroom. I'm convinced someone can see me dancing terribly when no one's around.

Also, thin walls. We recently got a new housemate and he brought a girl home the other week and, yeah, sound really carries here. I live with my partner so I'm super paranoid about making noise now. Egh.

That I’m always forgetting something. Alternatively, did I lock my door bed I left?

I have an accidental rooster, and I don't want to have to give him up to a shelter since I'm afraid he'll end up as soup, but I don't want to disturb my neighbors. The hatchery I bought him from sells "rooster collars" that are supposed to keep their volume down, I guess I'll buy one and hope they work. Although honestly I thought he'd be noisier, I've only heard him crow when sirens from police or fire trucks go by.

I like to karaoke on my phone, and I'm sure my neighbors can hear my though the walls/floor of this shitty apartment complex. I don't care so much about them hearing me, but I usually like to sing the same song numerous times to get the hang of it, so I sometimes start to feel bad for them, especially when it's a song that involves a lot of belting (I'm looking at you, "It's All Coming Back To Me Now").
