POC here. I've got mixed feelings about the whole thing. It's nice people are enthusiastic but I hate that I wonder how sincere they are or how much of it is an exaggeration for the internet.

Mhmm. Especially when you know that the only reason there is one "Queen" or hot guy at a time is because there aren't enough to begin with being let in. It makes me think of (I can't recall who said it but) this thing I'm going to poorly paraphrase "When can we be just as mediocre as white Hollywood?" When there are enough of us, that we can have 4 Chris-es and they're all just alright actors. And that won't be a big deal. And this applies across the board for POC actors/actresses.

Until then...sigh. Side note, the overgushing always makes me feel like you never saw a Black person before (or...i don't even know...it's all a bit much). Because I know plenty of black folk (in my family even) who are better looking than X actor/actress. I see people like this on the street, lol.

This is possibly a weird thing to suggest, but Rupaul's drag race seems to have like zero race lines. It's been pretty refreshing, especially the later seasons. Depends on whether it's your thing or not though.

I generally stay away from reality/competitive shows unless it's a home remodeling show (like Flea market flip or the show with Jessica & Chip, even This Old House on occasion). Last show I saw with drama was ANTM, season...5? 7? The last winner I saw was linkletter, I think. I get tge feeling Rupaul's show has some drama...
