I think I read an interview with one of the writers(?) saying they were working and building towards Thor/Valkyrie. So hinted at, but not 100% official in Ragnarok?

I ship Thor/Sif. I'm not real big into shipping in Thor though, so I don't really care who he ends up with, if anyone. I liked Jane well enough on her own, but she & Thor were boring & their great love wasn't believable. So anyone but Jane is fine by me.

Are Sif and Thor canon in the comics or just Norse?

Kind of canon.

Thor was with Jane a pretty long time (by mortal reckoning). Thor briefly dated Amora (the Enchantress) after Skurge (the Executioner) died. Some writers do remember that Thor and Sif were married in mythology and try to use that in the comics. I think they're poly.

I'm the anon who posted "Sif/(Beta Ray )Bill!" and I'm not really, not entirely anyway, kidding.

Thor was with Sif for literally decades longer in the comics than he was with Jane. Jane was written out of Thor's book during the initial 60's run (Sif replaced her as love interest in the very same issue Jane left) and never really became his love interest again aside from a short time during the 90's in Roy Thomas' second run on the book.

In the comics Sif gave up on Thor meant years ago. While Val has never come across as super into men to me, she's also been canonically involved with Thor. No issue here.

Sif and Thor only broke-up three years ago so Jason Aaron could repkace her with his shitty OC and turn Sif into wallpaper.

And Val's only been into men in the comics. The closest she got to a woman was being kissed by Annabelle Riggs, but she was still dating Flash Thompson during and afterwards.

If this is the case, I'm even more excited about this movie! Though I wish they would pair her up with Loki (then all my Thor related dreams will come true!!! No more looking for fic with OC characters of color/imagining they are [since there is barely any physical description provided] because we got one!!!! HA HA!!!!)

But I totally get wanting to have the canon Thor/Sif. In my drawer fic, they are a side pairing -- kind of a lie, but I do like Sif and she is featured as all hell in the fic, so I'll write Jane off just for you, OP).

I'm just so happy :D
