I should have been clearer - what I had in mind was that you can't leave the city limits (or the limits of the urban area or whatever). Maybe some bizarre genie cursed you or something, I don't know. I mean, obviously you don't have to go along with that, it's just what I was thinking in my head.

All the more reason to build one yourself, so you can build it out as big as you want.

Unless you meant an existing city? In the real world? In present day?

Los Angeles, where I already live. I love it here and there are a huge amount of places within the city limits. I already hardly ever leave.

This would've been my answer, if it weren't for how disgusted by, and fearful of, the entire US political situation I am. And I mean, I know LA is pretty left-leaning and not exactly representative of the country as a whole, but all the same, I don't think I could choose LA right now. Which is too bad, because it seems like a pretty sweet city, especially for someone with a billion dollars. :)

Even here we have our local horrible situations, and I do not blame you at all for not thinking the U.S. political situation is worth living with.

My runner-up city was Berlin. My German isn't very good but with a billion dollars I could get better.
