124. Being into a lot of weird kinks, I get a lot of the same reactions when I explain what help me get off. For me, the emotional and physical pain is the reason I like it.

I hate when people sugarcoat rape. It's one of the most horrible things a human can do to another human. I leaves deep scars that sometimes can't heal. But, for me, that's what I like about it. I like the trauma that can come from it and the inner turmoil it causes.

'course, that's probably the reason I like guro as well.

I agree with you so much. I am a big fan of non-con and hurt/comfort fics, and nothing is more disappointing than finding an interesting sounding non-con fic only to find out that they're going to completely forget the rape after half a page of "coping". The best non-con I've read are the ones that involve loads and loads of psychological anguish. That's what I enjoy about non-con.

But just try and explain that to "normal" people. All I ever get is a lot of blinking, staring, or disgusted name calling. Heck, try explaining that to other people who read non-con. A lot of people like the pseudo-fluffy non-con, where all the characters are healed afterwards, and all is right with the world. People don't want loose ends in fiction.

I am fucked up. And the first to admit it. But I don't see how that has any baring on what I enjoy reading.

It isn't that I read non-con for the "SEXY OH GOD RUB MY CLIT TO ORGASM" . I don't. I don't read fanfic to get off, whether you believe it or not. I read fanfic because human psychology interests me. I also read psychology text books and case files because human psychology interests me. I like knowing what makes people tick, and seeing people in times of pain and suffering is a great way to see what makes someone tick. You don't know what someone is capable of until you see them at their worst.

Not that you're likely to believe any of this. I'm sure you've formed your opinion of me already and nothing I say is going to change that. If you're unwilling to open your mind enough to realise that not everyone thinks and acts the same way you do, I highly doubt that you're open-minded enough to listen to someone else's motivations, or to care about why they disagree with you.

Which is sad, really. You're missing out on the other half of the world by being so unwilling to compromise. I feel sorry for you.
