Rape victims who write non-con are just perpetuating the trauma. I don't see how it's a way to "cope". It's basically reliving the same experience over and over. I guess if they do that, it means they just can't get enough.

...What ever happened to simply relating with a rape victim character because of their experience and their struggle to overcome the trauma? When did reliving the terrible event via fic become a coping mechanism?

I don't think there needs to be one right way to cope with trauma. It may not be healthy, but if it's not hurting anyone else, why do you care?

Actually, I think it's similar to writing a deathfic to overcome a death. It's a way to put it behind you, and it actually does work (it worked for me, anyway) - so long as you don't end up stuck writing the same thing over and over to get rid of the feelings.
