Honestly, I don't care that people have rape fantasies--- in fact, I have my own fascination with domination/submission. It's the people that talk about how they want to see a little girl from a Nick show "in a non-con fic b/c she's a BITCH!" that really upset me. I was a bitchy kid. Does that mean that I deserved it, or that if I write out what happened to me someone's going to get off to it?

I don't read it, but when I am looking for stuff to read, it's hard to blind yourself to the "non-consent" label. Hell, I don't even think it would bother me as much if people just fucking called it rape. Bad shit happens, I obviously get that. And I'm not even calling for people who write it to drop dead. I just don't want it prettied up into something it is not, which is romantic, or erotic.

I guess...non-consent is just as bad a label as rape to me (by bad I mean both are just as negative), and from my understanding started being used because people who had been raped were effected by it as a trigger word.

The thing is, rape is an erotic thing to people. not real life rape (Well, I'm sure there are some sicko's out there) but fictional rape. Rape is one of the top 10 "normal" female fantasies. I ttly understand that "Bitch deserves it" attitude being disgusting, and I can understand why it bothers you to see rape/non-con fics, but I know there are plenty of place you can go that are "safe" from that.

Well then might I just say that you should have put more thought into your wording. The way the secret's written doesn't say that. It seems like a blanket expression of hatred for everybody who ever wrote rapefic.

I'm totally with you on "in a non-con fic b/c she's a BITCH!" being a horrible, disgusting attitude; Rape is not an acceptable punishment for anything, ever, and treating it like that twists my gut. But I've read rapefics and I've written them, and I have a bit of a kink in that regard; not a major one, and absolutely only in a fictional context, but the way you worded it felt like an attack on me personally, when you were trying to address a completely different group of people.

I'm with you in that a lot of fandom attitudes towards rape are disgusting: 'she deserved it', 'rape is punishment', 'she doesn't want it but it feels good so by the end she'll be wanting more' (especially that last one. That's a lip-curler. I don't think there's anything I hate more than that).

And as noted above, rape fantasy is a fairly erotic thing IRL for a lot of people. That's because it's fictional, and not real. Those are two very different things. You can find fictional rape hot and still find real rape the most vile thing in the world. The one has nothing to do with the other.

Incidentally, is the little girl from a Nick show Katara? Because that sounds like typical Avatar fandom shenanigans. =/
