That was phrased wrong- I know there are some fandoms that don't do those things, and almost every fandom has things to do besides those. Not everyone participates in those things. It's just the overall tone to the secret coupled with admittedly obnoxious parts of fandom being listed with mainstream parts of fandom... it comes across to me like the OP is listing every part of fandom, good bad or neutral, they can think of. I might be wrong, but I bet if you asked him/her what s/he thought about in-depth discussions of the canon or delving into things psychologically/historically/theoretically, s/he'd say that s/he hated them too. The secret seems more to be "OMG ALL OF FANDOM SUX NO MATTER WHAT YOU'RE DOING PLUS IT'S KILLING A LOVED ONE!!1!" which is why I think it's possible that it's a troll- not that people don't hate fandom, or fandom can't be unhealthy, but the tone of things is way, way overblown and seems designed to generate snark way too easily.
