(Anonymous) 2017-10-25 04:07 am (UTC)(link)When you're inconveniencing others by being too squeamish and uptight to engage in a simple and often necessary aspect of camping, then people are going to be annoyed by that, and for good reason.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-25 07:18 am (UTC)(link)Leaning against something is easier for me, and there's no risk I'll fall over or pee on my feet.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-25 05:35 am (UTC)(link)I have a job that involves a lot of outdoor work, often far, far from any bathroom. I am not droping everything and driving anyone to the bathroom or letting someone take a 1 hour break just to pee while everyone else has to keep working.
Frankly, I think anyone who won't pee in the woods is a wuss, but anyone who isn't with me in the woods isn't my problem and can do what they want.

(Anonymous) 2017-10-25 07:23 am (UTC)(link)We went back to S's house and someone suggested we go on a hike in the woods at the back of S's neighborhood. It was early February in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1997. It was cold, but there wasn't snow and the sun was out. We were wearing sweat pants and jackets.
So, we head out into the woods. We were having fun- C found an old graveyard and we looked around a bit. Looking back, I think we actually snuck into Fort Bragg. Eventually we came to a small creek. We had been hiking for a while and with the sound of running water, C, S, and I had to pee. We didn't know how to pee outside. S's Dad was all, just go. So we went, squatting unsuccessfully. We ended up with wet underwear and pants.
S's Dad ended up showing us how to go to the restroom in the woods. The walk to the neighborhood was the worst. Thankfully a neighbor near the wood entrance drove us back in the bed of his truck. I have had to use the tips he taught us several times
