Job hunting, especially when I want to relocate.

I wonder about other job markets in other countries; quite a few have stuff that actually looks out for new graduates, but Amurika thinks there's glory in a bootstraps story when most people just end up choking themselves to finally escape making no progress.

Sick of back pain. At the stage where I can function, but by the end of the day I'm in pain and need a pain pill. And I can't lift much of anything. It is just frustrating. I hoped to be better than this by now.

The lack of sexy plus sized clothes in stores right now. I went to the mall to look for a shirt to wear for my vampire Halloween costume. I wanted something that showed a decent amount of cleavage. I found nothing. My only idea left is wearing a sheerish black shirt with a black and pink corset under, but the group the party is for meets in my parent's church, so I'm not sure I could get away with that.

I have no patience with people who refuse to pee outdoors or in an outhouse/pit toilet. I am a woman and have to pull my pants down and lean against a tree or log to pee outside and I still manage just fine.

Toilet habits are (and should be) personal decisions. Getting upset that peoples' personal decisions (that don't really affect you at all) are different from the personal decisions you make is... weird and a touch creepy.

1. It's hot here, hotter than it's supposed to be at this time of year and hotter than it's ever been for this time of year (Northern California). I want AUTUMN WEATHER, DAMMIT, I want cool temps and rain and clouds. I want boots and jeans and sweatshirts and sweaters. I want hot tea. I want to start baking (I have no AC so using the oven beats the house up). I love warm weather, and my cut-offs, tees, and flip flops, but I AM TIRED OF THEM. WHERE IS FALL, GODDAMMIT.

2. I'm almost out of wine. Waah!

3. I have to take my dog to the vet tomorrow to get a prescription renewed. Problem is, they have no record of her being on that prescription, even though I got it from them, and even though she's been on the meds for nearly a year, because the vet who prescribed them isn't a regular vet there and I guess neglected to make a note of it in my dog's medical records. Grrr, the fuck am I paying them for.

I hate my back being screwed up and me being constipated and feeling the beginnings of a hemorrhoid. Fucking having jobs where you sit all day. Yeah, yeah, I know it's a fucking job and I'm supposed to suck fate's dick for the fact that I have one. It doesn't mean there aren't some tradeoffs here.

I have too much real life money-costing (lawyer, taxes, house repairs and insurance, grad school maybe, the list goes on) stuff to worry about to have spent all day with my stomach in knots and actually crying because my favorite character is 90% likely being killed off on Friday. We’re doing a children’s Halloween carnival at work that day and I don’t want to see some kid dressed as Belle and burst out crying. I almost want to wear my OUAT Belle costume but I’d probably cry wearing it too. Priorities, self, get some.

Cockroaches

Sooo I'm from a place that doesn't have cockroaches (a cold place). I moved to the east coast and just saw my very first cockroach outside of a zoo... in my apartment. This is a nightmare-ish scenario that I am not emotionally prepared for. I think I am a pretty clean person (take my trash out regularly and keep it in a sealed bin, never leave dirty dishes out, put food away in cupboards, regularly wash/bleach kitchen). What did I do to deserve this? I seriously am anxious just sitting in my apartment right now. I know it can't hurt me but I'm so stressed I want to cry hysterically.

Customers who somehow have no idea what they're doing when using a self-service checkout, then shout at me when it goes wrong because OUR MACHINE MUST BE BROKEN. Not because they can't follow simple on-screen instructions. Lady who talked to me like shit today, if you rub the item against the scanner like you're grating cheese, yeah, it's going to say you've scanned it 23 times. That is not a faulty machine or us "trying to get more money" out of you.

THE FUCKING WEATHER!!!

It's 104F in October. I'm in California.

I see people posting selfies in sweaters with their pumpkin coffee, and I'm sweating in a sports bra and booty shorts with Gatorade in arm's reach because it's miserable even with AC on full blast.

My electric bill is gonna be so high. I hope the heat dies soon, I'm fucking sick of heat.

I can't handle being alone all the time anymore. I'm so afraid to be around people but then I hate being alone too. (I will totally admit it's my fault, but that doesn't help much.) And I'm not really in contact with friends over the internet much anymore either.

The current crew I'm managing has a collective IQ of about 30 I swear to god. It's a team of five and three of them really have no business even walking around a work site with dangerous machinery let alone operating it, and the other two are both spineless followers who just "go with the flow" even when that flow is risky or illegal.

I'm here to get them up to speed, and honestly I'm just not sure if I can do it. I've literally never had to work with a more collectively incompetent set of employees in my life. Usually in our industry most teams are pretty fucking good, or else you'll have one or two weak links that you can work around. But these guys, they all just fucking suck.

On the bright side, their employer is aware of how much they suck and that's why he hired me on. He had low expectations from the outset so it won't be a problem for me if I can't get them into shape.

I think found a giant canine tooth in my pizza. It was broken in half. I felt it no my tongue before spitting it out. It's enough to put me off eating pizza for a while.

My paycheck isn’t covering that last damn f@&*ing bill I have to pay this month.

And I have to bring my lunch with me so I don’t have a nasty negative balance at my bank. While this isn’t terrible, I’m used to paying my bills on time.

Also, my car needs new tires before next winter. Bleagh.
