Customers who somehow have no idea what they're doing when using a self-service checkout, then shout at me when it goes wrong because OUR MACHINE MUST BE BROKEN. Not because they can't follow simple on-screen instructions. Lady who talked to me like shit today, if you rub the item against the scanner like you're grating cheese, yeah, it's going to say you've scanned it 23 times. That is not a faulty machine or us "trying to get more money" out of you.

I feel this way about customers who use our ATM, the majority of the time it's not that the machine is broken, it's that the customer doesn't know how to use it or did something to fuck it up. Like no, stuffing a roll of bills into the cash accepter *without unrolling them first* is not our machine screwing up, it's you just broke our machine and now I have to dig your cash out of it. Or the guy who got salty with me yesterday about how our machine stole his cash...because he 'forgot' he had cash and checks and stuffed all of them in the check accepter.

The machines at my local grocery store won't let you scan another item until you put the item you just scanned into the bagging area. Which is probably why I've never scanned anything more than once - I'm not great at using those machines. It's no one's fault but mine though. I just avoid them as much as possible.
