Okay, that actually makes sense. I just was getting the feeling of people saying the standard "how could she not know?" that happens every time a criminal isn't single. But yes, if it was an open secret, she likely knew. She could have told herself it wasn't true and forced herself to believe it, but that would be just as bad.
